Music And Music Carol Of The Bells - 1699 Words

This concert was a series of performances by the Limestone College and Community Chorus, as well as a couple of performances by the Limestone College Vocal Ensemble. This is a review of the first half of the concert, which featured performances from the Limestone College and Community Chorus. Carol of the Bells (Ukrainian Carol) by Mykolo Leontovich (1877-1921) Carol of the Bells is a Christmas carol with a unique history. The beginning of what would eventually be popularized as a Christmas carol begin as a Ukrainian traditional folk chant. This famous Ukrainian chant was arranged and set to music in 1914 by Ukrainian composer Mykolo Leontovich. This piece, with its catchy 4 note motive which is developed over the course of the song,†¦show more content†¦This leads me to believe that almost all of the issues that arose during the concert were caused simply by the positioning of the performers in the auditorium. The Shepherd’s Carol by William Billings (1746-1800) William Billings was an American choral composer, and he is considered to be the first choral composer in American history. He primarily wrote 4-part a capella choir pieces. The Shepard’s Carol is a famous piece of his that is a staple of Christmas choir music to this day. The difference in the sound of the choir between the back of the auditorium and on stage is night and day. The stage made their balance so much better, with the bass and tenor voices resonating better through the audience. I also noticed how much stronger the intonation of the choir was when they were closer to the piano accompaniment. The different voices in the choir also have strong blend individually. Rather than it sounding like I am listening to 11 sopranos as indicated on the program, it sounds like I am listening to just a few because of how well those 11 singers blended together. You can tell there is a lot of emphasis on the performance being a group effort rather than a bunch of individual efforts . Carols Around (and around) arranged by Carl J. Gender And Communication Essay - 828 Words

In response to what we have discussed thus far in Interpersonal Communication, I would like to further explore the idea of gender in the interpersonal communication arena. That is to say, society would like all women to render themselves as weak, non-assertive, helpless, male-needing beings. Women are told to act lady-like at all times. This means not arguing, not standing up for themselves and obeying men at all times. The feminine guidelines are seemingly endless and to live a feminine lifestyle is exhausting for most women. It is not accepted for women to spit or belch, whereas for a male these acts are second nature. A fabulous example of manifested pure femininity is the Barbie Doll. Barbie is a homemaker, with a thin body dressed in pink. Barbie is seen as the perfect women and manifests in physical form in every issue of Playboy magazine. Most women are chasing an illusory goal of total femininity, while at the same time searching for complete societal acceptance. nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;Very few people emit all masculine or all feminine behavior. There are two basic types of verbal communication. They are interpersonal communication and public speaking. Interpersonal communication is what is known as a two-way conversation with both talking and listening. Non-verbal communication on the other hand is what we refer to as body language, signs, and symbols. It has no words related to it. These types of people tend to question what they are saying. Physical barriers involve the environment. Semantic barriers are when you cannot agree on what you are trying to say. Signs and body expressions are also considered communication because it involves two or more people and something is being said or noted. Ladies and gentlemen, well-wishers, special invited guest, members of staff I say to welcome. Communication-simple yet complex easy to do and easy to blunder . The ability to communicate effectively is essential for everyone but one must understand the complex process involved in communication, and become aware of the common barriers to effectively communicate. Let’s explore some of the dynamics to effectively communicate and also some of the elements. Communication is the process of sharing information, thoughts and feelings between people through speaking, writing or body language. Related article: Argyles Stages of Communication This simply means between groups or two persons, thoughts and feelings at some point in time is expressed to each other and also even felt. Effective communication extends the concept to require that transmitted content is received and understood by someone in the way it was intended. The goals of effective communication include creating a common perception, changing behaviors and acquiring information. When the act of communication is initiated, internal processing about information or feelings you want to share with someone else is called encoding. After encoding, the message is sent through either spoken or written words, which completes encoding process. At the other end of communication is receiving and interpreting what was sent is called decoding. The recipient can and should confirm receipt to the sender to close the communication loop. Speaking to an audience can be fun and exciting. However, lack of preparation or not clearly defining the presentation’s goals and its audience can make even the best-intended presentation a complete disaster. Let’s take some time to consider the context of communication an element in effective communication actually it improves the effectiveness. Context takes into consideration the age, region, sex and intellectual abilities of the recipient. It is also useful to assess receptivity and the emotional state of the sender and receiver at the time of communication. For example, when speaking to an elementary school child about the importance of brushing teeth, you should choose different words and examples than you would when talking to a teenager or an adult. Effective communication is really interesting, let’s take a turn and explore some of the barriers that prevent effective communication. The English language abounds in words that mean different things to different people. The lack of common experience between let’s say an instructor and student is probably the greatest single barrier to effective communication. Many people seem to believe that words transport meanings from speaker to listener in the same way that a truck carries bricks from one location to another. Words, however, rarely carry precisely the same meaning from the mind of the instructor to the mind of the student. In fact, words, in themselves, do not transfer meanings at all. Whether spoken or written, they are merely stimuli used to arouse a response in the student. The student’s past experience with the words and the things to which they refer determines how the student responds to what the instructor says. A communicator’s words cannot communicate the desired meaning to another person unless the listener or reader has had some experience with the objects or concepts to which these words refer. Since it is the students’ experience that forms vocabulary, it is also essential that instructors speak the same language as the students. If the syntax (terminology) is necessary to convey the idea, ample time needs to be spent making certain that the individuals that you are communicating with understand that terminology. Now let’s explore some of the nonverbal. This specifically speaks about one thing body language. Body language includes posture, position of hands and arms, eye contact and facial expression. Children learn to read body language as a way to enhance understanding of the speaker’s intent. Body language that is consistent with the verbal content improves understanding. Body language that is inconsistent with content creates a question in the mind of the listener about the real message. For example, someone may be saying, â€Å"I really want to hear your opinion on this. † However if the person is looking away, has his arms folded or is typing a text message at the same time, his body language communicates an entirely different message. An element to consider is interference in other words, components that can interfere with effective communication. If the sender is angry, his ability to send effective messages may be negatively affected. In the same way, if the recipient is upset or disagrees with the message or the sender, he may hear something different than what was intended by the sender. Considering emotions, language and conceptual barriers is essential to effective communication. Effective communication is a reciprocal process that includes listening. Successful listening requires eye contact, objective processing and feedback to the speaker. Active listening may involve asking clarifying questions or restating what was heard to ensure that the intent of the message sent was correctly received. Active listening becomes particularly important when the communication includes emotional content. In conclusion the basic element of the communicative process indicates the beginning of the understanding required for the successful communicator. When a problem arises don’t waste your time and energy on the problem, focus on the solution. As a matter of fact, it will begin to seem bigger than it really is. I must say, effective communication also takes other good  qualities such as patience, endurance, depending on who or what you are dealing with. Recognizing the various barriers to communication further enhances the flow of ideas in a group or one on one. The parties involved must develop communication skills in order to convey desired information and must recognize that communication is a two-way process. In the end, the true test of whether successful communication has taken place is to determine if the desired results have been achieved. Take control of you and your surroundings by communicating more effectively. Be blessed and truly enjoy the journey! We will write a custom essay sample on Effective Communication or any similar topic only for you Order Now By learning effective communication skills, you can connect better with your spouse, kids, friends, and co-workers. In this assignment I will write about the different types of interpersonal interaction: one to one and group interaction, which is also used in profession environments. I will compare one to one communication with Argyle’s theory, and I will also compare group communication with Tuckman’s theory. What is effective communication? We have to send, receive, and process huge numbers of messages every day. But effective communication is about more than just exchanging information. Effective communication requires you to also understand the emotion behind the information. It can improve relationships at home, work, and in social situations by deepening your connections to others and improving teamwork, decision-making, caring, and problem solving. It enables you to communicate even negative or difficult messages without creating conflict or destroying trust. What is one to one to one communication? One-to-one means one person communicating with another person with no other eople joining in. If you walk into a one-to-one job interview, the interviewer may say ‘Good afternoon, my name is †¦ Please sit down’ this make you feel less nervous so you feel more confident. But if you walked in and someone immediately said, ‘Sit down. Why do you want this job’, you would sit down and start to answer questions instantly, so would be very nervous and likely to mess up. It is the same in any conversation; it is important to create the right feeling by being friendly and showing interest in and respect for the other person. The conversation needs a start, e. g. Hello, How are you today? ’ middle, when you both talk about what you need to, and an ending, e. g. ‘Bye, See you later. ’ One to one conversation allows extra time for people to discuss any feedback they may have and also enables them to ask n ecessary questions. What is Group Communication? Group communication is communication which is carried out with at least 3 members in the group or more. This group can either be a professional group, social group or and educational group. The members of the group will have a common interest or goal, which is the reason they are bought together. Group communication is harder because it only works properly if everyone is involved. In most groups there are people who speak a lot and others who speak a little or do not speak at all. Maybe this is because they feel uncomfortable speaking in front of a group of people or they are just not interested in the topic of conversation. Groups work best if there is a team leader who encourages everyone to have a say in turn, rather than everyone trying to speak at once. The use of space is important when having a group conversation, preferably sitting in a circle. This allows everyone to see each other and understand the message effectively. Advantages of one to one communication: Having a one to one conversation will help you gain quick feedback, for example if you emailed someone they may no check there email for days and you would not get the quick reply that you needed. You will also be able to read the other persons facial expression and body language, this will help you understand how the person is feeling and if you can trust what they are saying to you. For example if you someone texts you a ‘? when they are angry just to be sarcastic you may not realise and you may think that the person is actually happy. Also sometimes people feel shy and nervous amongst a group of people, and they may not be able to get there point across, because they are worried about what the other people may think about them, so if they have a conversation with one person they may feel more comfortable and they can get there point heard easily. Advantages of group communication: In a group conversation, you will be able to get a vast number of ideas. You will also be able to hear a number of people points of views that may or may not fit in with yours; you will always learn new things. This will expand your knowledge in the particular topic which is being discussed. You will be less narrow minded and more open to other people ways of seeing things. When having a one on one conversation, the other person may share the same ideas with you, so you will not learn much new things but in a group conversation there is always someone who either disagrees with you or knows something that you don’t. Disadvantages of one to one communication: You will not be able to think your answer through when you are having a one on one conversation because the person who you are having the conversation with will be expecting you to give them a reply as soon as they finish talking. So you won’t be able to deeply think about the situation and give a good answer. Sometimes in a one to one conversation you may run out of things to say so it will make the atmosphere very awkward and agitating. Sometimes if the right atmosphere isn’t created in the conversation the whole conversation will just be a waste of time. Related essay: â€Å"Advice About Communication† Disadvantages of group communication: In group conversations it is harder to start the conversation and keep it going, this is why there always needs to be some sort of a group leader. Sometimes the shy people in the group are threatened, tend to stay quiet and they don’t get a chance to get there point across. This is because of the much louder members of the group, who dominate the conversation. This is why the leader needs to make sure they all have a chance to talk. This is one of the main disadvantages in a group conversation. Also coming to a conclusion will take much longer then it would in a one to one conversation. Argyles theory: Michael Argyle was a social psychologist who researched and developed theories about human communication and interpersonal interaction. He focused on verbal and non-verbal communication. He carried out experiments to test and develop his theories and ideas Argyle’s ‘communication cycle’ theory explains how communication occurs between people in one-to-one conversations. Argyle claimed that one tot one communication is essentially a two-way process that involves people sending, receiving and responding to each other’s verbal messages. One to one conversation allows extra time for people to discuss any feedback they may have and also enables them to ask necessary questions. The use of space is important when having a group conversation, preferably sitting in a circle. This allows everyone to see each other and understand the message effectively. . The stages in his communication cycle are: 1. An idea occurs – You have an idea that you want to communicate. This is decided on choosing the right words. You may want to ask yourself what will the other person want from the message and what impact the message may have. 2. Message coded – You think about how you’re going to say it. You put your thought into a language or in any other form of communication. 3. Message sent – You speak to whoever you need to. When the message is being sent they may be distractions. It is best to avoid interruptions and background noise. 4. Message received – The person who you spoke to has to sense your message. When receiving the message the other person should check for main points to test their understanding. This could be main points, facts and phrases. 5. Message decoded – The person has to interpret what you said. He will make assumptions about what you said and how you said it (body language and facial expressions) 6. Message understood- If the cycle went well then your message will be understood. If the cycle starts off well then the last stage will make it easier for people to understand your message. The cycle shows how people’s minds work while in a one to one conversation. Argyle shows us what goes on the persons mind and how the person carries out the action. This is an example of argyles cycle: 1. An idea occurs – New car 2. Message coded – I want to buy a new car 3. Message sent – ‘I really want to buy a new car’ 4. Message received – The other person nods his head 5. Message decoded – *not sure if this person really needs a new car or if he just wants one* 6. Message understood – ‘Do you need a new car or do you just want a new car?’ In this example the message was not fully understood, but this is common because it is hard to understand the message the first time because of the person’s body language and facial expressions. Tuckman’s theory: Bruce Tuckman’s theory suggests that groups must go through these stages to be effective there are four stages: 1. Forming – involves group members who have met for the first time to share some information then coming together and asking basic questions about the purpose and aims of the group. In this first stage of group development, members tend to feel quite nervous. A leader usually emerges in this early stage. 2. Storming- this is when there is some conflict, tension and struggle within the group. Members of the group may argue over the purpose of the group. In this stage, power and control are the main issues. Eventually, the purpose of the group and the roles within it become clear. At this stage tolerance, patience and co-operation is needed or else the team will fail. 3. Norming- the group’s identity develops. Group agrees on values. The group arrives at one goal and agrees a shared plan to achieve it. The group members tend to work together to resolve conflicts, consciously or unconsciously. 4. Performing- when the group have established common expectations and values. They then finally get down to working effectively. Members tend to focus more on the overall goal rather than on relationships between themselves. Relationships have, by this stage, become more comfortable and are based on trust and mutual support. In conclusion, effective communication is very important as it enables people to exchange ideas and information. In addition it facilitates people to build relationships and develop their self-esteem. Communication allows checking a person understanding with regards to active listening. Businesses in Public Service Delivery- myassignmenthelp.com

Question: Discuss about theBusinesses in Public Service Delivery for Healthcare. Answer: Introduction Public services are the services of the government to its citizens. The government usually has the obligation of providing public services to its function as a way of giving necessities to its citizens (Dewald, 2008). The public services are free, and no one has to pay anything to receive them. The public services include healthcare, security. The government itself cannot be able to supply the public services to its citizens. Thus, it needs the help of other organizations to help it in the service provision. An example of the organizations that can help the government in the provision of services is the business organizations. The business organizations are in a position of being reached by many people thus it can be so useful in the provision of public services. The government too should place restrictive measures to ensure that the business does not harm the people during the process of service delivery. Businesses in Public Services Delivery Companies should be used in public service delivery since they are much closer to the people. It is always easy to get access to business places. Thus the state can use them to provide the public services to its citizens. All the businesses aim to make profits. Therefore, the government should ensure that it gives them conducive environment to enable them to work well ("Private companies can provide a public service", 2018). This should always be a mutual benefit between the government and the businesses. The government can come up with incentives which can motivate the companies to provide the health-related services. The incentives can be based on the provision of excellent services to the public which will encourage the businesses even to have the psyche to deliver to the audience. Businesses should be used in the provision of public services since they are filled with specialized personnel. Most organizations are always filled with personnel to ensure that all the processes run as required. The health experts found in the private sector are still skilled enough since they operate with due care to safeguard their places in the market. They can be trusted with the products to be produced in the company. They usually design the right taste on the goods to ensure that they meet the standard health requirements. If the goods are harmful, they always must disclose that to ensure that no one gets harm. They still do this while making the profit generation mind with them. Provision of public services through the private sector is cost effective. The government should offer contracts to private industry on the provision of delicate services such as the health services ("Funding to grow rural businesses available", 2016). These contracts by the government will reduce the government of the cost of having provided the health services itself. The deals will also see the business organizations make plenty of profits. After the contracts have been given out, the government should ensure that it comes up with regulative measures to ensure that the private sectors do not take advantage of the deals and provide poor health services to the citizens. This is the reason why the state has legalized many private hospitals. The private hospitals have proved to be more equipped with modern technology than the public hospitals thus many people with the critical issues do prefer to go to the private hospitals. Researchers have proven that businesses have the highest consumer satisfaction score. This shows that companies are more effective in the provision of the public services (Hill, Brierley MacDougall, n.d.). Many people tend to trust the services delivered by the businesses according to the history of that business organization in that area. The companies can be used to provide quality health services to the people through; Awareness of health-related information- the businesses should ensure that they provide sufficient knowledge about the health conditions. The perception is important as it enables the consumers to know the pros and the cons associated with a particular good (Barry, 2012). The government also requires the businesses to disclose the health-related information so that its citizens cannot be harmed from consuming harmful products Regulating supply of harmful products-, the state should ensure that the businesses control on the production and supply of the toxic products. When people tend to consume plenty of sugary stuff in the market, the government should always act by imposing tax sugar ("What about all the other harmful products?", 2014). This will reduce the supply of sugar in the market thus the production of sugary goods like candy will reduce. This will be a regulative measure of the government on the health of its citizens. The government should always inform the companies on this to ensure that the companies do not make losses due to the imposed taxes. Proper branding- the businesses always brand their commodities with covers exposing all the nutrients contained in the foodstuffs they produce. The government should trust the business organizations with its citizens due to the significant motive the businesses have to its citizens (Nandagopal R, 2015). Complete disclosure will always help the local consumers to know all the ingredients contained in the foodstuffs. Thus, they can choose whether to buy them or not. Research by businesses the companies usually researches their goods in the market before releasing them to the public. This is so important to the health of the people (Mouzas, 2006). The research is always an attempt to ensure that the businesses offer quality to the public. This can be done while the company still makes profits. No business organization has ever complained of making losses due to the research of its goods on the consumers. Thus, the study is significant in ensuring the good health of the public. Businesses should be used in the provision of public services due to their Innovativeness in service delivery. The private sector is made up of very hard working individuals who are always profit oriented. Their creativity and innovativeness help in the provision of quality health services. They tend to make the people get the most modern treatments in case they are ailing (Medhekar, 2014). The government too usually help the private sector by providing them with the most conducive environment. The favorable environment and sound tax policies motivate the public sector to deliver quality services as they are also assured of making profits in the end To ensure that the businesses continue to make gains while still providing public services to the people. The government should always step in firmly and ensure that it allows for enough incentives to the public sector (LLP, 2018). The incentives are still the motivating factor that helps the private sector to assist the government in the provision of the public services. The incentives also enable the companies to generate profits (Roland Dudley, 2015). No company can accept conducting a business where it does not experience any gains. There won't be any cases of losses by the private sector if the state comes in and provides them with enough incentives. Right tax policies can act as the incentives given to the private sector. Right tax policies enable the companies to supply plenty of goods to the public. The private sector can never indulge in illegal business if the government provides good terms to them. The government should also be careful when issuing contracts to the private sector. The state officials should never use favors when giving out the deals to ensure that quality is observed in the provision of public services (Mishory, 2013). When the right company is given the mandate to provide public services, it usually does its best. It usually ensures that it considers all the consumer's requirements when providing the goods and services. The sales of these services always make the companies generate enough profits to keep them going. Public services such as health services are essential, and they should be trusted with well performing and reliable industries. In the case where contracts are given blindly, poor services will always be provided leading to the citizens being affected. Involving the public sector in public service delivery enables the government to diversify. The diversity allows for the government to perform its activities widely. When this business provides the services to the public, they act as government representatives. The government benefits from this since it is not required to provide the services to the citizens directly. The help of the private sector also enables the government to increase in the amounts of services it is to submit to the public. The government can increase the variety of services to be provided by allocating different services to different companies. The government does this since businesses are so many and are easy to access by the public. Thus getting public services from them is much easy. Conclusion. It is evident that businesses are so important in helping with the provision of public services. Business companies are widespread thus readily accessible to the public. This gives them the advantage when it comes to the provision of public services. They act as government representatives to the public. It is always the responsibility of the government to ensure that quality goods and services are provided to the public thus they impose regulative measures to the private sector to ensure that quality is maintained. It is also evident that the incentives offered by the government motivate the private sector in providing the public services since it helps the businesses to continue making profits in their performance. If they did go past the line drawn by the British, they would not be protected UN the British due to their unwillingness to pay for their protection. The British knew that the Native Americans would fight for their land and were very protective of it as shown In Document B, a speech delivered by Assassinate, a Chief In the Iroquois Confederacy, o the representatives of Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania In 1742. This lead to them taxing the colonists to raise revenue and cover the costs of the war which was caused by the colonists. In document F, the British Order in Council in 1763 tastes that it is necessary to tax the American colonies because otherwise they would not have the means (money) to cover the colonists costs. These taxes were carried out in many forms Including the Stamp, Sugar and Tea Acts, as well as others that forced colonies to pay taxes on everyday goods. Benjamin Franklin wrote a letter to John Hugs (document GIG from London to Pennsylvania on August 9, 1 765, describing how he was trying to get the Stamp Act repealed. This letter was most likely written by Franklin because he was a colonist from Philadelphia, who was a participant in overspent and owned the Pennsylvania Gazette, which meant the act hit him at home. Document H, represents the economic oppression the colonists felt that they were receiving from the British with a newspaper masthead showing how the Stamp Act was affecting them with skull and crossbones in the place were a stamp should be. The things done by the British to try and raise revenue from the colonies to cover the French and Indian War were causing a change in the future Americans economic rationales. Asides from changing the American colonists view on their political and economic legislations with Great Britain, the French and Indian War also changed their Ideology. They believed that the British were governing them with virtual representation, or without actual representation and unfairly. One example of the change in ideology is from George Washington himself, in letter written by him in same king and country. In document D, an entry from a Massachusetts soldiers diary in 1759, the soldier describes how unjustly he and other colonial soldiers are treated by officers ev en though they were born Englishmen, but says they are not rated like they are, showing the growing resentment of British authority. In document E, Reverend Thomas Bernard located in Massachusetts in 1763 talks about how great the victory of the French and Indian War and the British were and how the American colonists would be able to expand further west. This viewpoint was most likely changed after the Proclamation of 1763, as the colonists could not actually expand westward with British protection. Document H, the Newspaper masthead from October 1763, also represents the change in ideology of the American colonists. It talks about saying farewell to liberty, stating Adieu Adieu to LIBERTY, showing how the British were taking away their freedoms. The British actions that occurred during and after the French and Indian War played a major role in the changing of ideology of the British. The French and Indian War was a major cause of the American Revolution. One type of document that would help show how the war changed relations between the colonies and the British would be a letter from a Parliament member to a member of colonial government concerning relations between the mother country and its colony. The French and Indian War caused the colonists to change their political, economic and ideological relations with the British. Political relations were tarnished by the Proclamation of 1763, the economic relations were strained by the taxes placed on the colonies by the British to cover the French and Indian War costs, as well as those in the future. The ideological relations were diminished due to Britains governing without representation on the American colonies.. The French and Indian war played a crucial part in the American Revolution. French and Indian War Dbq free essay sample Although America was originally overrun by Indians, soon Europeans took over the most of the land for settlement by the end of the French and Indian War (Doc A). Nations were fighting for land, infuriating the Indians. Even one Indian Chief of the Confederacy gave a speech in which he stated that We know our Lands and they have no Right to settle. Ignoring their words and the words of Britain, colonists pushed for the west. Soon after the war had ended, Britain had felt it was reasonable o tax the colonists for a third of what they had to pay (Doc F).Colonists were outraged by all their taxes (I. E. Sugar Act, Stamp Act and the Act) (Doc H). Even Benjamin Franklin came to look for others in order to repeal the stamp act (Doc G). They echoed taxation without representation. George Greenville Insisted that they were part of a virtual representation to defend the taxes. As much the Idea of virtual representation was criticized, even by William , the Parliament still passed the Declaratory Acts of 1766, asserting the right of Parliament to legislate for the colonies all cases whatsoever. This angered the colonists even more, which caused mishaps around the colonies, namely Boston or the Boston Tea Party and Boston Massacre.Soon after the war, colonists changed their Ideology about being loyal to England; this Idea accelerated the road to revolution. After all the taxes from the mother country, colonists began to rebel leading to the well known American Revolution. Thomas Common Sense set the mood for the rebel colonists, Insisting that they should Just fight. Not long after the war did trouble grow within the colonists and the British. Taxes were put on nearly everything to help pay for the war. The colonists feel as If they had been ridden of their rights. As one newspaper stated Adieu Adieu to LIBERTY which meant goodbye goodbye to liberty (Doc H). French and Indian War DBQ free essay sample In the British Order of Council (1763) the policy of salutary neglect came to an end as the French and Indian War ended. With the abandonment of salutary neglect, the British began to strictly regulate trade and Impose taxes on commonly used items. Because of English debt from the war, the British needed to generate revenue to maintain military protection of the colonies, but the revenue collected only paid one-fourth of administrative costs. The Proclamation of 1763, and act that banned the colonization of British subjects west of the Appalachian Mountains, came into effect. The Native Americans believed that the white settlers, who were moving onto their land, had no right to settle on their grounds. In speech (1742) It was discovered that earlier land treaties were not fair. The Proclamation of 1763 was Britains idea of being fair and preventing conflict. As Benjamin Franklin stated in his letter to John Hugs (1765 b the colonists wanted to get it as soon as possible.Franklin, In favor of maintaining law and order, wanted to repeal the Stamp Act while working within the political system. The Act of sudden taxation and regulation took a major toll on the economic relationship between the conflicts and their mother country. Before the war the colonies became accustomed to salutary neglect. When the war and salutary neglect ended, the colonies relations with Britain worsened. They were so used to being left alone that when the British came and took over the colonies were angered. Since the end of Salutary Neglect, the colonies Ideological relations with Britain began to change. Taxation and regulation had added to the resentment colonies had already felt prior to the Proclamation of 1763. The French and Indian War helped the American soldiers realize that were treated less than the British soldiers slaves. In the diary of Massachusetts soldier (1759) the treatment of the soldiers was revealed. American soldiers that were claimed to be an Englishmen were denied Englishmen liberty. The soldiers were not given the necessary things to survive in seasons such as winter. They were not Even while in the army, there was still a separation of class. The lower your class division the poorly you were treated. The French and Indian War is to blame for a lot of things including the American Revolution. Free Essays on Holocaust Experiments

We all know of the millions killed during the Holocaust due to gas chambers, starvation, and being worked to death, but what about the ones who were experimented on with out consent, to them it would have been better to have been sent to the gas chamber. Although doctors are usually the one’s people think of to keep us healthy and to heal us, it is just the opposite in the case of the Holocaust. Doctors conducted many cruel and unusual experiments on Jews, Homosexuals, Gypsies, and many others that Hitler found to be a threat to the Aryan race. These experiments were not conducted on behalf of the human race but for the Aryan race, they were conducted to see how cold a German soldier could get before hypothermia set in or before they died. Many experiments were conducted to see if the cells of one inmates organ or body part would regenerate if it was placed on another’s body, or if they could figure out how to make twins so they could artificially inseminate a woman and spread the Aryan race quicker. One of the most common experiments was the freezing experiment. The freezing experiment was conducted to determine the most effective means for treating German pilots who had become severely chilled from ejecting into the ocean, or German soldiers who suffered extreme exposure on the Russian front (The Experiments). The freezing experiments were divided into two parts. First, to establish how long it would take to lower the body temperature to death and second how to best resuscitate the frozen victim. The two main methods used to freeze the victim were to put the person in an icy vat of water or to put the victim outside naked in sub-zero temperatures. After each victim was frozen the doctors would try and find the best way to resuscitate them. There were many ways used to resuscitate the victims, the Hot Bath was found to be the most successful but the Sun Lamp, Internal Irrigation, and Warming by Body Heat were also used. Wit... SAMPLING Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words

SAMPLING - Essay Example Systematic sampling on the other hand, is a sampling design that employs the technique of selecting the elements to be sampled using a fixed pattern by first arranging the elements in a certain pattern (Kalton, 1983). Additionally, stratified sampling refers to a method of first partitioning the whole population into subgroups called strata after which samples are chosen from each stratum (Särndal, Swensson & Wretman, 1992). Cluster sampling is another method of sampling where the population is divided into smaller units called clusters where the researcher randomly selects the elements to be sampled from each cluster (Thompson, 2012). This technique is useful when the population is too large. There exists various sampling situations: the population in a given country is divided into districts and a household is sampled from each group to represent the whole population. Additionally, a class with 100 students; 36 female and 64 male students. Each student’s name is listed in a sheet of paper and then placed in a bowl where they are mixed thoroughly. A paper is picked each at a time without replacement and the student’s name on the paper is
